Sermon by Pastor J. A Adesanya
Topic: SEEKING HELP FROM ABOVE
Psalms 121:1-2 (KJV) I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
Psalms 70:1-5 (KJV) Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD.
Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.
Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha.
Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.
But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.
When we talk about help from above, we are talking of help from ONE whose decision is the FINAL SAY. The maker of heaven and earth, The greater than the greatest.
The most dangerous thing to do is to seek help from other source than THE GOD ALMIGHTY.
WHEN DO WE SEEK HELP
* When we are surrounded with life trouble and challenges
Psalms 46:1-3 (KJV) God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
WHO NEED HELP
* Our Families
* Our Nation
We are in difficut times and the problems is increasing more and more.
Disaster is everywhere all over the world.
*Spiritual forces from hell and many more.
We are in a situation when our NATION is under seige. Blood shed everywhere. But our God Jehovah will rise and put an end to all our problems in JESUS NAME. Amen
WHERE SHOULD WE SEEK HELP
Our God does not want us to seek help outside HIM
WE SHOULD SEEK GOD ONLY FOR HELP.
Isaiah 31:1-3 (KJV) Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.
Psalms 60:11-12 (KJV) Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.
Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.
WHY WE NEED HELP
* Our enemies have gather formidable weapons of destruction.
* We need help from Above for SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND STRENGTH to withstand the powers of evil
* We need Help from Above to keep shining the light of the GOSPEL
NO MATTER THE LEVEL OF PERSECUTION, THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST WILL MARCH ON IN JESUS NAME.
This is the period that FAMILIES should do away with un-necessary quarrels and STAY TOGETHER, PRAY TOGETHER AND LABOUR TOGETHER FOR WORK OF GOD.
