SCRIPTURES

 1 Peter 1:14-22

[14]So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then.

[15]But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.

[16]For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”

[17]And remember that the heavenly Father to whom you pray has no favorites. He will judge or reward you according to what you do. So you must live in reverent fear of him during your time here as “temporary residents.”

[18]For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And it was not paid with mere gold or silver, which lose their value.

[19]It was the precious blood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.

[20]God chose him as your ransom long before the world began, but now in these last days he has been revealed for your sake.

[21]Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory.

[22]You were cleansed from your sins when you obeyed the truth, so now you must show sincere love to each other as brothers and sisters. Love each other deeply with all your heart.

POWER POINTS

*The greatest challenge among believers today is impurity in the church

Isaiah  52:11 “Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD”

MEANS OF CLEANSING

You must continually use the means of cleansing – Faith

  • The first Means of cleansing is Faith

Acts 26:18 “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me”.

  • The second means is obedience to the word of God. (John15v3)

Ephesians 5:26 “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word”

John 17:17 “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth”

  • Yielding to the Holy Spirit.
  • Personal commitment

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service”.  12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”

2 Timothy 2:21 “If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work”

CONCLUSION

There is no limit to what God can do in the life of a PURE PERSON

We must go the extra mile to live a Holy Life

PONDER ON THIS

…… Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end.

1. Who or what stop the increase of the government and peace of JESUS upon your life?

2. Why is this prophecy of His government and peace increase not fulfilled in your life?

WILL YOU GIVE HIM A CHANCE IN YOUR LIFE TODAY?

STEPS TO SALVATION:

1. Appreciate God for providing salvation from SIN through our Lord Jesus Christ

2. Acknowledge that you are a helpless sinner who need Jesus

3.Repent and Confess your sins to God and ask Him to forgive you.

3. Accept The Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

If you do this, you are a saved person and connected to life of abundant satisfaction and ready to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to start sharing your own personal testimony of salvation to unbelievers around you and rejoicing as Christ witnesses.
